15 HD Images For Avengers: Infinity War Bring Us Closer To The Spectacle

Disney (via Marvel Studios News) has today rolled out a series of high-definition images pulled from the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer.

Amid MCU blowouts for Black Panther and Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp (see here), Disney has now rolled out a series of high-definition images for Avengers: Infinity War, the deadliest cinematic showdown in the history of Marvel Studios.

Embedded below, there are 15 action shots in total, most of which have been pulled from Infinity War‘s record-setting trailer – 230 million views in its first 24 hours of release – while one features the close-up of Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and the unconscious Thor (Chris Hemsworth) that initially released through USA Today.

It’s just one of many, many crowd-pleasing exchanges primed to take place in Infinity War, given Joe and Anthony Russo have stacked their event movie with no less than 76 characters. That’s an impressive, if overwhelming roster by any standard, though we’re quietly confident in the Russo Brothers’ ability following their frankly incredible work on Captain America: Civil War.

But 18 months after their colossal bust-up, and Tony Stark and Steve Rogers clearly have bigger fish to fry. There’s a Mad Titan on the horizon, after all – and he’s brought company. Yes, Thanos will be flanked by the villainous Black Order later this year, which is essentially a roster of superpowered alien creatures (read: Thanos’ adopted children) comprised of Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, and Cull Obsidian.

Proving that Infinity War is merely the beginning, Joe and Anthony Russo also have the so-far untitled Avengers 4 locked and loaded for 2019. Principal photography wrapped late last week, leading the cast and crew to celebrate with an oversized Thanos cake – how very apropos – though we imagine Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be sick of seeing Josh Brolin’s purple baddie when all is said and done. He is the embodiment of evil, after all.

And he’ll waltz onto the screen via Avengers: Infinity War later this year. Shortly thereafter, Avengers 4 will tend to unfinished business on May 3rd, 2019.
