Is Captain Marvel Hiding In Avengers: Infinity War’s Latest Promo?

One curious comic book fan has seemingly uncovered a shot of Brie Larson's Captain Marvel hiding in the Avengers: Infinity War Super Bowl teaser.

Super Bowl LII has left a trail of blockbuster teaser trailers in its wake.

Before the Philadelphia Eagles swooped in to collect the coveted trophy, and Justin Timberlake wowed the audience with his halftime show, Hollywood’s biggest studios paraded their wares for all to see, beginning with Avengers: Infinity War.

It’s been described as the biggest film in the history of Marvel Studios, and one need only look to the online buzz for proof that Infinity War is far and away the most-anticipated release of 2018. Slated for May 4th, and therefore due to emerge from the shadow of Black Panther, Joe and Anthony Russo’s superhero extravaganza is practically in a league of its own when it comes to generating hype, as last night’s 30-second Super Bowl promo was enough to bring the Internet to a standstill. And what a promo it was.

Teeming with more memorable crossovers than you can shake an Infinity Stone at, the Infinity War stinger assembled its leading heroes in spectacular fashion, though one curious fan (h/t ComicBook.com) believes there is another big-name Marvel character hiding in plain sight.

It’s a bit of a stretch, as the pattern on Captain Marvel’s final red-and-gold ensemble doesn’t exactly line up with the one seen behind Captain America. Chances are that this is actually Wanda Maximoff (AKA Scarlet Witch) decked out in her full costume – cape included – as Elizabeth’s Olsen Avenger has been pictured alongside her god-like love interest, The Vision, all throughout Infinity War‘s marketing campaign.

Besides, with Captain Marvel expected to arrive next March, we’ve reason to believe that Marvel Studios will reserve Brie Larson’s MCU debut until Avengers 4, which will bring an end to Thanos’ reign on May 3rd, 2019.
