Stunning Captain America Concept Art Takes Us Closer To The First Avenger

CBM has delivered another raft of Marvel-related concept art, and this particular batch is all about Captain America: The First Avenger.

That’s because seven years ago, Steve Rogers was initially introduced as a pathetic, yet deeply patriotic runt, one who wanted to fight for his country no matter the cost. And so, when Project Rebirth began seeking applicants, the young Rogers put his name forward without so much as a second’s hesitation, resulting in the Captain America we know and love.

Of course, he’ll be slightly different in Avengers: Infinity War, as Joe and Anthony Russo plan to bring Chris Evans’ crusader closer in line with Nomad. But as the countdown to IW continues, CBM has published a raft of concept art dedicated to Captain America: The First Avenger.

It’s a fascinating presentation of what could have been, and serves as a perfect companion piece to last week’s showcase of Red Skull, the demonic Nazi brought to life by Hugo Weaving. He’s by no means the greatest MCU villain – that title arguably belongs to Erik Killmonger of Black Panther – but The Matrix actor still turned in a fairly memorable performance as the unhinged baddie.

The journey to Avengers: Infinity War continues, dear readers, and we’ll be with you every step of the way as Marvel Studios braces for the biggest superhero movie in a generation. Closer to home, the Powers That Be are readying Black Panther for its worldwide debut on February 16th, and though a spiteful hate group has threatened to derail the movie’s chances of success over on Rotten Tomatoes, critics have deemed Ryan Coogler’s spinoff to be one of the MCU’s greatest triumphs.
