February 13th is a special day for DC fans.
Sure, Twitter and Instagram have been inundated with photos of pancakes for the past 12 hours, while tomorrow is arguably the most romantic day of the year. But for a small pocket of the Internet, February 13th belongs to one thing: Justice League‘s release on Digital HD.
It’s part of the reason why Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon’s troubled blockbuster has been drafted back into the spotlight, as budding fans run a fine-tooth comb over storyboards and those much-debated deleted scenes. The latest nugget to emerge is much more entertaining, though, as it shows Snyder directing Wonder Woman’s last-minute rescue mission, as the Immortal Warrior sabotages a bank heist in the nick of time.
It’ll be included in the upcoming Blu-ray launch, too, which comes packing scores of extras and deleted scenes, but no director’s cut. Instead, viewers can look forward to an extra helping of Henry Cavill, whose Man of Steel features in a never-before-seen deleted scene. Sadly, it’s only two minutes in length, which may disappoint those holding out for an extended preview of Superman’s resurrection.
Circling back to Wonder Woman’s rescue, this so-called “scene study” is one of four in-depth breakdowns to be featured on the Justice League Blu-ray, given there are also featurettes dedicated to the Amazonians, Heroes Park and the climactic tunnel battle that sees the gang confront the villainous Steppenwolf.
And remember Justice League will be available across *deep breath*Â 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-Ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD on March 13th, with Amazon now taking pre-orders.
