New Gotham Synopsis Reveals Date Of Jerome’s Return

Aside from the show being forced to take a vacation for several months, it’s probably safe to say that one of the major reasons that a fair amount of us are looking forward to Gotham‘s midseason premiere is because we expected that Jerome Valeska would heavily factor into it, right? After all, not only was he involved in the midseason finale’s cliffhanger, but he’s been prominently featured in promos and social media teasers in the time since.

Aside from the show being forced to take a vacation for several months, it’s probably safe to say that one of the major reasons that a fair amount of us are looking forward to Gotham‘s midseason premiere is because we expected that Jerome Valeska would heavily factor into it, right? After all, not only was he involved in the midseason finale’s cliffhanger, but he’s been prominently featured in promos and social media teasers in the time since.

In recent weeks, though, we experienced a buzzkill of sorts when a synopsis and subsequent images culled from the returning episode confirmed the complete absence of Jerome, with the show instead focusing on Peyton List’s debut as the third iteration of Poison Ivy. Cool as that is – and I am definitely looking forward to seeing what List does with the role – it was quite the letdown to learn that we’d have to wait a little longer to see more of Cameron Monaghan’s proto-Joker.

Fortunately, our assumption that Jerome would return in the episode to follow has proven correct. Thanks to a freshly released synopsis for the March 8 episode, “A Dark Knight: A Beautiful Darkness,” we can provide absolute assurance that the moment we’ve been waiting for will arrive:

Ivy (guest star Peyton List) tracks a secret project on which Wayne Enterprises is working and begins to target anyone that can give her information. Meanwhile, Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan) becomes obsessed with Penguin in Arkham. Also, Gordon begins to second guess his deal with Sofia and an unsettling dream sequence shakes up Bruce in the all-new “A Dark Knight: A Beautiful Darkness” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, March 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. As you can see, Ivy will still play a big role for the foreseeable future, and that’s awesome as well. Hopefully, that’ll likewise hold true for Jerome, because whatever episodes he appears in often end up being among the series’ best, so this is definitely one to mark your calendars for.

Gotham returns with new outings on Thursday, March 1st on Fox.
