After being somewhat disappointed to hear that Jerome Valeska will be entirely absent from the midseason premiere of Gotham – no matter how heavily he’s factored into its marketing – it was nice to learn that he’s been confirmed to appear in the episode to follow.
So, now that the March 8th outing, “A Dark Knight: A Beautiful Darkness,” is within reaching distance, the network is naturally allowing more promotional material to circulate. In this instance, it’s a bounty of images culled from the highly anticipated offering, with many of them featuring Cameron Monaghan’s brilliantly crafted villain.
As you can see in the accompanying gallery, Jerome has seemingly turned the day room at Arkham Asylum into his own big top circus of sorts. And as he goads the Penguin into whatever game he’s planning, you can guarantee that we’ll be on the edge of our seats waiting to see where this goes.
Not long ago, we learned that all this will lead to a birth of sorts for this series’ version of the Joker, which we can only hope is the emergence of a new personality on Jerome’s part, rather than another actor entirely. The only thing that could be worse is if all those “Penguin will become the real Joker” fan theories from season 1 finally pay off, but I digress.
