Jason Momoa In Justice League

More Aquaman Reactions Call It “A Fantastic Film”

The success rate of the DC Extended Universe hasn't been too impressive so far. Accepting that they do have a lot of fans out there, the general consensus would have it that Wonder Woman is the only big winner in the franchise to date. Warner Bros. will be really hoping to turn that around, then, with the next entry: James Wan's Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa as the King of Atlantis.

Though it’s still very early days, a new report is claiming that the initial reaction to the pic is that it’s nothing less than “fantastic.” On a new episode of Collider Movie Talk, host John Rocha revealed that he’s spoken to DC comics writer Marc Andreyko who said that Aquaman is being received very positively behind the scenes.

“I was talking to Marc Andreyko last week, this time last week. And he said ’I’m hearing rumblings that it’s a fantastic film.’ So he, through his connections at DC, has access to people who have seen it and have said the same thing.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard good things about Aquaman, of course. A recent comment based on a test screening of the film teased that it has “tons of action” but is “very emotional” to boot. Furthermore, another report claimed that its action will wipe the floor with the set pieces from both Justice League and even Wonder Woman.

All in all, we’re quietly getting more and more excited for Aquaman and are hopeful that the public reaction will be just as positive as these early reports are when the first trailer hits. Speaking of which, we’ve heard conflicting news on whether it’s imminent or not, but the most recent rumor assures us that it’ll arrive in about a month’s time – and we can hardly wait.

Aquaman swims into theaters on December 21st. In the meantime, you can relive Jason Momoa’s first proper turn as Arthur Curry when Justice League hits Blu-Ray and DVD on March 13th (pre-order here).
