A Statue Of Friday The 13th’s Jason Voorhees Is Still Underwater At Minnesota Dive Site

Whenever one embarks on a camping trip - especially to a location in close proximity to a lake - any self-respecting Friday the 13th fan is going to make the obvious jokes saying that you should probably watch out for Jason Voorhees. Having said that, we're wondering if the treasure we're about to discuss today has ever made unsuspecting swimmers poop their pants.

As you may know, one Curtis Lahr built a rather screen accurate statue of Jason back in 2014, using his likeness from Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. But rather than keeping it around the house, he placed it at the bottom of a popular dive site in Crosby, Minnesota, calling back to when an adult Tommy Jarvis bested the horror icon at the conclusion of that particular film.

Well, according to Lahr, the work of art is still down there!

As you can see in this YouTube video, Jason’s still stymied by those chains and hasn’t been able to break free. What’s also worth mentioning is that he still looks to be in good shape, despite the elements taking their toll on him. But seeing as how his hygiene isn’t exactly beyond reproach, the weathered look is quite appropriate.

Of course, his extended aquatic adventure in the film series probably contributed to his decayed appearance, which Kane Hodder recently told us was his favorite look for Jason:

“Well, I loved playing the character every time, no doubt. But, overall, my favorite one that I did was Part VII because I think that’s the best look of Jason in basically any of the movies – but definitely the best look of the ones I did, I think, just because it was so different. It was like a rotted corpse and it hadn’t been that way before. It was always a human.”
