Just how will those cosmic misfits the Guardians of the Galaxy react when they meet Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Infinity War? That’s one of the questions we can’t wait to find out the answer to when the movie arrives next month. Ahead of that, though, one of the stars has given us a taste of what we can expect from Rocket Trash Panda Raccoon in the film.

At MCM Comic-Con in Birmingham, Sean Gunn – who handles the physical performance of Rocket on set, while Bradley Cooper provides the voice later on – was asked for his favourite reaction to Rocket by one of the other heroes in Infinity War. Though the actor decided to pass on that question to preserve spoilers, he did flip it and tease what Rocket’s reactions to the the other heroes will be like.

“Oh gosh. I think you’re going to have to be the judge of that. Although – it was certainly fun to see many of these new characters through the eyes of Rocket [Raccoon], because Rocket does not have the same sort of reverence for the superheroes that the average earthling is going to have. So, I think there is a lot of fun there.”

That sounds like Rocket, all right. A scene description has already given us a tease of what the character will do when he meets Winter Soldier – continuing a running joke of his perverse interest in artificial limbs from the Guardians of the Galaxy films, he’ll try and get his hands on Bucky’s cybernetic arm. We’ve also heard that Rocket and Hulk will form an unlikely bond during the movie, too.

That said, for the most part, we’ve been led to believe that Rocket will spend most of the runtime with Groot as they accompany Thor on his side mission to find himself a new weapon – the battle ax Stormbreaker. One moment in the trailer seems to show Rocket in genuine awe of the God of Thunder, too, so maybe his irreverence will be broken through at some points in the film.

Avengers: Infinity War hits cinemas on April 27th.
