Carl’s Death Haunts Rick In New Clip From Tomorrow’s Walking Dead

In this new clip from tomorrow's episode of The Walking Dead, Rick's and Michonne mourn the loss of the former's son, Carl.

It’s been over a month now since The Walking Dead returned for season 8B and still, there’s a gaping, Carl Grimes-sized hole in AMC’s zombie drama.

Not that we can say we didn’t see it coming; remember, Carl’s fatal wound was initially teased late last year, long before The Walking Dead went offline for its annual winter hiatus. Even still, many viewers are still mourning the loss of Chandler Riggs’ hardened survivor, who had been a fixture of the series ever since its debut back in 2010.

It’s not only the fans, though, as the characters on AMC’s hit show are also struggling to come to terms with the death of Rick’s son. Case in point: this new clip seen up above from tomorrow night’s episode, which features Michonne and Rick coming together over the letters that Carl left behind for them – letters which Andrew Lincoln’s fearless leader can’t bring himself to read.

It won’t only be the aforementioned couple who takes the spotlight this weekend though, as Sunday’s all-new installment promises to be a big one for Daryl and Rosita, too, who will seemingly come into contact with an “old friend,” according to the episode’s official logline:

With the threat of the Saviors still looming, Aaron continues searching for allies; Daryl and Rosita take action and confront an old friend.

With the season now rolling into its final couple of outings, the story look to be coming to a head as this description suggests that the pressure’s on for the gang, as they desperately search for new help or encounter “old friends.” We’re not sure the specifics of what this will involve right now, but we’ve got a feeling that this will be another can’t-miss installment of the show.

“Still Gotta Mean Something” is expected to force Rick and Morgan into uncharted territory on Easter Sunday (April 1st), before AMC begin laying the groundwork for the long-in-the-works crossover between The Walking Dead and its sister series, Fear The Walking Dead, which is about to extend a warm welcome to the haunted Morgan Jones.
