We’ve got great news for fans of The CW’s comic book TV shows. The four series that make up the Arrowverse, the sort-of connected Black Lightning and Riverdale have all been renewed by the network. While a recent tip just this past weekend hinted that that they’d be safe for another year, it’s definitely nice to have some official confirmation.

We have to say that The CW has made the right move here. Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow all continue to entertain their ardent fanbases and, though the quality of some of these shows has been a little up and down this year, they still have much to deliver. Likewise, Riverdale – based on the Archie Comics series – has proven to be a major success over its first two seasons.

Black Lightning, meanwhile, only debuted this year, but its first season has impressed fans so far. It was hoped that the series would get a sophomore run, too, as the cast and crew have teased that it could crossover with the Arrowverse in future and even introduce other DC heroes such as Static Shock.

“As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday through Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19,” said President Mark Pedowitz in a statement released today.

“By picking these ten series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come. And I’m especially happy that we’ll continue to work with the incredibly talented casts, producers, and writers who create the series our fans are so passionate about.”

The one property on The CW based on a comic book that’s yet to be renewed is iZombie. Inspired by the Vertigo comic of the same name, the zombie comedy-drama has racked up four seasons since 2015 and has a lot of cult support behind it. From what we understand, its future will be decided in May, along with Life SentenceValor and The 100.

As for the rest of the lot, we’re beyond thrilled to see that they’ve all been renewed and you can currently catch all the Arrowverse shows – plus Black Lightning and Riverdale – each week on The CW.
