Avengers: Infinity War will bring together every MCU hero for the first time. With the chance to go bananas with character pairings, then, the event movie will serve up some unusual dynamics. Sure, there will be reunions for fan favourite duos such as Steve and Bucky, but there will also be left-field team-ups like Thor, Rocket and Groot.
Or, as it happens, Spider-Man and Star-Lord. The teenage vigilante and the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy will come together as part of Iron Man’s group, which also includes at least Drax and Mantis, who will travel to Thanos’ homeworld of Titan at some point during Infinity War.
But how did Peter Parker himself, Tom Holland, enjoy working with Chris Pratt for the first time? It turns out that the actor found his co-star “quite difficult” to film with….but only for all the right reasons. Apparently, the pair had so much fun on set that Holland struggled to stay in character.
“Working with Chris Pratt was pretty awesome. He is so funny, he’s so fun, and he’s got such great stories about his career and about the industry, and he’s just super talented, you know? I found it quite difficult, because he’d make me laugh so much. He’s the man, I absolutely love him.”
As well as bonding with Peter Quill (probably over their shared first name), Spider-Man will also spend some more screentime with Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark, who’s become his mentor over Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Holland has previously teased that their surrogate parent/child dynamic will continue to blossom in the film, too.
Meanwhile, Peter will also share a few scenes with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for the first time. The Russo brothers have promised that the two British actors will have “great chemistry” in the pic, which we’ve seen in some of the trailers released so far.
Avengers: Infinity War is getting ever closer now and finally smashes its way into cinemas on April 27th.
