Tom Holland Says Tony And Peter’s Relationship Will Blossom In Avengers: Infinity War

Speaking at a recent fan event, Tom Holland said that Tony and Peter's relationship will really blossom in Avengers: Infinity War.

New duos will be forged in Avengers: Infinity War as heroes like Star-Lord and Tony Stark and Thor, Rocket and Groot come together for the first time in the MCU. That doesn’t mean the movie will forget the old favourite dynamics though that fans have come to love in previous installments. Case in point: Tom Holland has assured us that the bond that Tony Stark and Peter Parker share will continue to blossom in the film.

As established in Captain America: Civil War and embellished in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tony is Peter’s superhero mentor and, even though they differ on the best course of action sometimes, it’s clear they have a lot of respect for each other. That’s something we’ll see continue in Infinity War, with Holland teasing the following during a recent fan event:

“Of course it’ll develop. The bond they’ve formed is pretty strong and Tony has a great deal of responsibility for Peter and his actions. I think Peter may grate on Tony a bit more in this movie, which is fun, but our relationship definitely blossoms some more.”

This makes sense considering where Homecoming left the two. After angling to join the Avengers throughout, Peter had finally decided to turn down the opportunity, which marked a big step towards the pair becoming more like equals.

That said, Infinity War will still see the wall-crawler getting a boost from Tony’s tech, as we know Peter will adopt the Iron Spider suit during the skirmish with Thanos. It’s also been revealed that even despite turning him down the first time, Spidey will officially join Tony and the Avengers once the Mad Titan comes knocking, which is just as well, as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will need all the help they can get.

We’ll get to see how these characters’ relationships and more evolve in Avengers: Infinity War when it smashes into cinemas on April 27th.
