Production is now underway on Netflix’s upcoming reboot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. From what we understand, the new supernatural series will sidestep the fondly-remembered sitcom from the 1990s and instead draw inspiration from the acclaimed The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic series from Archie Comics, which took the story in a much darker direction.
Last week brought us our first look at the show’s two leads, as a set photo was shared featuring Mad Men alum Kiernan Shipka as the adolescent sorceress snuggling up with her on-screen beau Harvey Kinkle (played by Ross Lynch). Now, a whole batch of new pics from filming on location in Vancouver have surfaced, and you can check them out down below.
As well as more glimpses of Shipka and Lynch, the photos also reveal our first look at some of the show’s other characters. Namely, Jax Sinclair as Sabrina’s best friend Rosalind and Doctor Who actress Michelle Gomez. Going by her dowdy appearance here, it seems this is Gomez in her initial role as Mary Wardell, a teacher at Baxter High. We know, however, that she’ll end up being possessed by the evil Madame Satan.
Finally, Sabrina showrunner Robert Aguirre-Sacasa shared a photo of a creepy-looking goat who apparently goes by the name Black Narcissus. The producer compared the animal to Archie’s pet dog over on Riverdale and teased that he’ll be involved in “a dark baptism.” I don’t know about you, but I’m getting serious Black Phillip from The Witch vibes from this image.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina also features Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto as Sabrina’s witchy aunts Hilda and Zelda. Sabrina’s faithful talking cat, Salem will likewise appear. Netflix has yet to reveal when the show will premiere, but stay tuned for more.
