Arrow season 1

Oliver Dons His OG Costume In New Arrow Images

Having kept up with the current season of Arrow, I can't help but notice how it appears as though Oliver Queen is having his life torn down around him. He may have reconnected with his estranged son, sure, but the new recruits have gone about their own business, Thea recently split town, and now John Diggle has left the Emerald Archer's crusade in favor of a position at ARGUS. What is a hooded vigilante to do?

If we’re to compound this laundry list of happenings with the freshly released gallery of images found below, well, then we have all the more reason to tune in for the next episode. As you can see, Oliver has decided to dust off his old costume for a confrontation with Ricardo Diaz and his thugs. One could argue that we’ll be witness to a flashback, yes, but all signs point toward our hero being bitten by the nostalgia bug.

While this fashion choice may seem minor, I’m reminded of how series lead Stephen Amell teased a comeback of the suit he wore back in season 4 not long ago. So, unless we’re about to be treated to a serious amount of scenes taking place in the past, one can only assume that Ollie is about to run the costuming gamut for some reason that is unknown to us at this point.

And if stylish threads weren’t enough, the synopsis for “Fundamentals” hints at an old ally resurfacing:

OLIVER IS VISITED BY A GHOST FROM HIS PAST – In his darkest place yet, Oliver (Stephen Amell) wonders if he has failed at everything – being a father, a mayor and a hero. His frustration rising, Oliver lashes out at Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and William (guest star Jack Moore). A surprising visit from an old friend has Oliver questioning his next move. Ben Bray directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Emilio Ortega Aldrich (#618). Original airdate 4/12/2018.
