“Star-Lord, man…legendary outlaw?”
Peter Quill has come a very long way since heckling aliens on Morag, and in just a few weeks he’ll be buddying up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for Avengers: Infinity War.
It’s not a movie that Chris Pratt is taking lightly, either, as the MCU fan-favorite will see his Marvel career reach dizzying new heights thanks to Star-Lord’s seemingly “great role” in the film, which has been teased numerous times now. And while the exact specifics of what he’ll be getting up to remain a closely guarded secret, we do know that he won’t be too fond of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor upon first meeting him.
As seen in the new TV spot up above, the two heroes seemingly butt heads during their first encounter. That comes when Thor winds up on board the Milano, where he asks the Guardians to join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in their fight against Thanos. In what appears to be a very funny scene, Star-Lord mocks the God of Thunder, changing his voice to match that of Thor’s.
From what we’ve gathered so far, it seems that this moment takes place right near the start of Infinity War, perhaps even acting as the Guardians’ intro in the film. It’s one that Pratt has already hyped up, too, promising that audiences will be on their feet from the first frame.
“I won’t say where we are, but the first frame of seeing us, people will be on their feet. I’m not just saying that because of how great we are, although we are great, and I guess I am pretty cocky, but the way it’s executed really works.”
Exciting their appearance may be, Pratt has also admitted that the Guardians will mostly be “supporting players” in Avengers: Infinity War, as the film is still primarily an Avengers movie. That makes sense, but regardless, we still can’t wait to see the two teams cross paths later this month, when the event pic crashes into theaters on April 27th.
