David Ramsey Says Team Arrow Will Get Back Together

To say that the past few months have been a trying time for Team Arrow is quite the understatement. I mean, Oliver Queen was able to get by when Mr. Terrific, Black Canary and Wild Dog decided to go off and do their own thing, but the exit of Thea compounded with John Diggle's decision to sign up with ARGUS may be too much for the Emerald Archer to take. As such, he's decided to go back to basics, essentially getting back to his original mission.

The band will eventually reunite, though, but it will take some time. At least, that’s according to actor David Ramsey, who had this to say in a recent interview with ComicBook.com:

“The team has broken up before, but someplace within four to six episodes they’re back together. I think that we’re really going to play this out. And to be totally frank, this is the type of thing you need in a season six or season seven of a show that goes for twenty-three episodes per season. This is what you need. You need people broken. You need real loss that’s not easily fixed.”

While he does have a point regarding the personal journeys these characters embark on, this fracturing of the team has been a double-edged sword of sorts. It may be very difficult to see people hating Diggle, sure, but I can’t help but notice how New Team Arrow have kind of fallen out of favor with the fanbase. Though I guess that’s to be expected when you side someone against a show’s titular hero.

As Ramsey continued, he reminded us of how a common enemy will get everybody on the same page again, while also being quite cryptic:

“They’ll come back together — and listen, by the way, they come back together to work together even before all things are solved. We’re still after the same bad guy. It’s just these teams, new Team Arrow, Oliver Queen, John Diggle with A.R.G.U.S., they feel as if there’s more than one way to get them. But they come back together and work together as a unit to take down Diaz.

So this isn’t a situation where you have these three entities existing in the same city kind of working their own angles. They come together. But in terms of just the original Team Arrow that people have kind of fallen in love with, that will take time to kind of fix. And part of the purpose is to get Oliver on an island by the end of this episode, get him alone….So they’re taking our heroes to a very secluded place.”

Despite our optimism, one has to wonder how the landscape will appear in season 7. Already, we know that Colton Haynes will return as a series regular next year, and there are a generous amount of voices in this chorus at present time. Thus, it wouldn’t surprise us at all if the producers don’t put back together the same Humpty Dumpty.

Arrow airs on Thursday nights on The CW.
