“Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives.”

You’ve heard of the Sorcerer Supreme, the Winter Soldier, the First Avenger and King T’Challa, but what about Marvel’s Mad Titan?

Otherwise known as Thanos, the chief antagonist of Avengers: Infinity War (and indeed the entire MCU thus far) is a being of untold power and strength. His cosmic roots can be traced back to the doomed world of Titan, where he was ousted for his genius, physical deviancy, and “pragmatic but monstrous ideas.” Yikes.

But now, the Mad Titan plans to utilize the power of all six Infinity Stones – that’d be Time, Reality, Power, Mind, Soul and Space – to wipe out half of all life in the universe. He’s the Marvel equivalent of a Machiavellian, essentially, and in this newly released TV spot that you’ll find up above, he’s finally arrived on Earth, ready to carry out his plan. That can only spell trouble for the Avengers, as this footage teases that the villain poses a threat the likes of which they’ve never seen.

Yes, make no mistake about it. Thanos is on a quest for those Stones and he’ll do anything he has to to get his hands on them. It won’t be easy to stop him, either, as we’ve already been told that it’ll cost the Avengers dearly to defeat the Mad Titan, with director Joe Russo describing him as an unbeatable force in a recent interview:

“I mean it’s like death comes to call for the Avengers, it’s a nearly unbeatable force who is determined to destroy half the life in the universe in order to bring it into balance. He sees it as an overgrown garden that he needs to prune. As you mentioned he is fairly invincible. He’s a sort of genetic mutation who’s the Genghis Khan of the universe. Unbeatable on the battlefield and stronger than the Hulk. His skin is invincible, so it’s going to cost the Avengers something to defeat him.”

Avengers: Infinity War is now just a few days away from hitting theaters and we fully expect it to unfold across an epic, near-unprecedented scope. It appears we’re in for a treat, too, as the review embargo lifted yesterday and the film has already been certified Fresh over on Rotten Tomatoes.
