Infinity War actor Josh Brolin isn’t the only one wholly committed to Fox’s X-Men franchise – That Hashtag Show brings word today that Zazie Beetz will reprise the role of Domino for X-Force, the Drew Goddard team-up movie that is said to be targeting a production start on October 1st.

Indeed, much like Brolin before her, Beetz has reportedly signed a three-picture deal with Fox, so news that her Domino will be returning for X-Force shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Pre-production is just now getting underway on the ensemble movie ahead of its October start date, by which point Goddard and his team will be directing a “Black Ops force of down and dirty mutant warriors who are far more ruthless than their X-Men counterparts.” Yikes.

Beyond that, details are scarce; all we know for sure is that Deadpool 2 will likely act as something of a springboard as Fox begins to expand its mutant universe. Also of note, the X-Force comics originally included characters like Warpath, Colossus, Boom Boom, Shatterstar, Feral, Wolverine, X-23, Archangel, Psylocke and Fantomex, so there’s really no telling who Goddard plans to use once the wheels begin turning.

Caught up in the middle of all this is Wade Wilson, the irreverent, cocksure vigilante who decides to form the “super-duper fucking group” in the first place.

As for why he’s decided to take a leaf out of the Avengers’ book, Deadpool 2 director David Leitch recently went on record to say:

Building a team in the classic style of all action movies, there’s great opportunity for conflict, but it’s not because he doesn’t want to. Maybe his fun, never-stop-talking personality is a little grating and people get tired of him. It’s not for lack of his good heart. At the end of the day, he wants to be a better person and do the right thing, and sometimes his thinking is flawed, like all of us.

With Deadpool 2 scheduled for release on May 18th, it shouldn’t be too much longer before have some concrete intel pertaining to X-Force – you know, beyond the fact that Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin and now Zazie Beetz are all locked in to return. Stay tuned for more.
