Jon Bernthal’s brooding one-man-army is back on the streets of Hell’s Kitchen in these newly-captured set photos for The Punisher season 2. And as you can see, production on the Netflix series is well underway.

First spotted by a Facebook fan page (h/t Screen Geek), this gallery shows Frank walking alongside a “sassy street kid” called Amy Bendix (Giorgia Whigham), though it’s unclear exactly how the two came to meet in the first place. That secrecy spans the entire story of The Punisher season 2 – so far, at least – as neither Marvel nor Netflix have released anything official regarding Castle’s second coming.

So at least for the time being, we’ll have to make do with set photos, beginning with this batch uncovered over on Facebook:

Pretty cool, no? One thing’s for sure: Jon Bernthal’s hardened mercenary hasn’t lost his attitude since enacting vengeance on the Homeland agents responsible for the deaths of his wife and children. That leaves Castle in a pretty interesting spot, mentally speaking, as we approach season 2.

Indeed, recent intel has suggested that The Punisher‘s next installment was casting the net in search of three supporting players: Annie Beir, Kim Davis, and Melvin Skelling. Details of their respective roles weren’t disclosed, but if nothing else, this only lends credence to those rumors that Netflix and Marvel plan to adapt “The Slavers” and the “Suicide Run” comics and fuse them into one.

The jury’s still out on that one, mind you, but we’ll notify you if and when that situation changes.
