Having already captured a bunch of scenes in and around Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, the standalone Captain Marvel movie has purportedly uprooted for Shaver Lake after one curious Facebook user captured a video of what appears to be a downed aircraft that’s washed ashore.

First spotted by CBM, each snippet is totally free of spoilers, as they were both captured from a nearby boat just as it sailed past the artificial crash site. The original Facebook post notes that Samuel L. Jackson was spotted close by, so perhaps this is lifted from the moment when his Nick Fury stumbles upon the wounded Carol Danvers, whose DNA is infused with that of an extraterrestrial during a near-death experience.

The result is a radical transformation for Brie Larson’s titular heroine, given she’s granted with superhuman abilities like energy projection and flight. Indeed, Marvel boss Kevin Feige is quietly confident that Captain Marvel is the strongest MCU superhero so far, which only has us all the more excited for the character’s inevitable journey back to the future in time for Avengers 4.

Via Facebook:

And make no mistake, SLJ’s Nick Fury, who still had both eyes back in the 90s, will play a prominent role in Captain Marvel, as next year’s female-fronted solo movie will help explain how he became the barking S.H.I.E.L.D. director who approached Tony Stark at the tail-end of Iron Man all those years ago.

Said Kevin Feige:

To see a version of Nick Fury who has reached a point in his career where he thought the Cold War is over, you know, the best days are behind him. And certain things he encounters in this movie, it sets him on the path where that leads us to where we are 19 films later.

Captain Marvel‘s “inspiring” origin story will light up theaters on March 8th, 2019, where it finds itself smack bang in the middle of Ant-Man and the Wasp and the aforementioned Avengers 4.
