Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Features Tons Of Undiscovered Easter Eggs, Says James Gunn

Marvel fans have already been searching for that infamous unfound easter egg in Guardians of the Galaxy for a while now, but it turns out that its sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, also features a bunch of easter eggs that viewers have yet to locate. Marvel fans have already been searching for that infamous unfound easter egg in Guardians of the Galaxy for a while now, but it turns out that its sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, also features a bunch of easter eggs that viewers have yet to locate. At least, that’s according to director James Gunn.

The filmmaker took to his Twitter account this week to answer some of the most frequently asked questions from fans. Once again, he confirmed that the big easter egg from the first movie has yet to be found, as well as maintaining that he’s not just making this up to troll people. He then added that there are “a ton of unfound easter eggs” in Vol. 2, as well.

Fans thought that elusive Guardians easter egg had finally been located recently when someone uncovered a tiny but intriguing detail in the movie. The writing on Rocket’s digital readout of Stan Lee during the Marvel creator’s cameo features his catchphrase “Excelsior!” written in Skrull language. This was interesting, as the Skrulls won’t make their MCU debut until next year’s Captain Marvel. Gunn explained, however, that this was not the elusive easter egg.

The rest of the director’s comments in his FAQ Tweets echo revelations he’s made before. Groot lovers got emotional when he recently said that Baby Groot was a separate being from adult Groot, while he likewise teased Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by saying that Kraglin’s absence from Avengers: Infinity War would be explained in time. We don’t yet know what that “important” mission he’s on is all about, though.

Circling back to the easter eggs, and though we tried our best to find the most exciting ones in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when the sequel released last year, maybe Marvel fans should commit to seeking out these pesky extra-hidden ones now that we have a while to wait until we see (one of) the Guardians again in Avengers 4.
