Avengers: Infinity War Actor Says [SPOILERS] May Still Be Alive

A lot of people died in Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Infinity War. Aside from all those who fell victim to Thanos' devastating Snap of Doom - Bucky, Spider-Man, Black Panther, etc. - there were also a few characters who met their end earlier on, such as Gamora and Loki, among others. But one individual whose fate seems a bit up in the air at the moment is Benicio del Toro's The Collector.

Though the film strongly suggests that the Mad Titan took his life while obtaining the Reality Stone from him, it’s never made explicitly clear what happened to the character and if you ask del Toro himself, he thinks The Collector is still alive and well. While speaking to Cinema Blend to promote his new movie Sicario: Day of the Soldado, here’s what the actor had to say about it:

“I think he’s alive. Yeah… I think that, you know, I think he’s alive. You’re talking to him!”

While there’s every chance that del Toro could be playing coy here, something tells us he’s not. I mean, The Collector’s a crafty guy and you’d have to imagine he’d have a plan in place for when Thanos inevitably came knocking on his door. Then again, even if he survived his initial encounter with the Mad Titan, he very well could have been wiped out by the aforementioned Snap of Doom. Really, it’s hard to say.

Regardless, we certainly hope that there’s more for The Collector to do in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s an interesting character with lots of history in the comic books. Not to mention we’d still love to see him share some scenes with Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster.

What do you think, though? Did Taneleer Tivan survive the events of Avengers: Infinity War? Have your say in the comments section below.
