Avengers: Infinity War Fan Art Captures That Heartbreaking Bucky Moment

So many heroes die at the end of Avengers: Infinity War that it's hard to keep track of them all. Typically, the fallen that fans talk about the most are Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy. But let's not forget the first hero to be turned to dust by Thanos' Snap - poor old Bucky Barnes, who died in front of his best friend's eyes.

So many heroes die at the end of Avengers: Infinity War that it’s hard to keep track of them all. Typically, the fallen that fans talk about the most are Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy. But let’s not forget the first hero to be turned to dust by Thanos’ Snap – poor old Bucky Barnes, who died in front of his best friend’s eyes.

In case you fancy reducing yourself to an emotional wreck, here’s digital artist BossLogic’s piece which captures the moments following Bucky’s demise. It features Steve Rogers walking away from the spot where his old pal died, as his gun lies on the floor and the remains of Sergeant Barnes blow in the wind.

BossLogic captioned his work, “Goodbye Winter – “It always is harder to be left behind than to be the one to go,” and you can check it out in the gallery below:

Bucky’s death is so raw for “Stucky” fans as he and Cap have come so far over their long lifetimes, losing each other over again only to manage to reconnect once more. Of course, Bucky was initially thought dead during a mission in WWII, but Steve later learned that he’d been brainwashed into becoming the HYDRA assassin the Winter Soldier. With his help, however, Bucky eventually recovered from his conditioning and in Infinity War, they were able to fight together again. At least for a bit.

As the character’s so important, you might not think that Bucky’s passing is permanent, much like other deaths such as Black Panther or Scarlet Witch. However, the Russo brothers have maintained that not all the losses of Infinity War will be undone in next year’s Avengers 4. Though fans fully expect Bucky to inherit the mantle of Captain America in the future, maybe his superhero career will come to a premature end? Time will tell.
