Thanos Creator Shuts Down Reports Of Avengers 4 Introducing Another Eternal

Jim Starlin, creative mind behind a certain Mad Titan, has shut down reports that Avengers 4is about to introduce another one of his characters.

We’re still a full 10 months (and change) out from the theatrical release of Avengers 4 and already, the Internet is a maelstrom of Marvel speculation.

And while those time travel rumors continue to gain traction online, Jim Starlin, creator of Thanos and all-around comic book legend, caused quite the stir back in May when he told those in attendance at the Puerto Rico Comic Con that he’ll receive more credits for Avengers 4 than he did on Infinity War.

Super Bro Movies ran the initial story, though it’s since been confirmed that Starlin’s comments were taken out of context, so don’t be fooled into thinking that Joe and Anthony Russo’s 2019 sequel was about to introduce the living embodiment of Death or A’lars, the Mad Titan’s father.

It’s still possible that Avengers 4 will draft another Eternal into the mix, but at least according to Starlin’s most recent Facebook post (h/t Heroic Hollywood), those initial reports were wildly off base.

Okay, this has gone on long enough. Last month at a con in Puerto Rico it came up in the Q&A that I received two credits in the Avengers: Infinity War. I then kidded that I was going to shoot for three in the next movie. I never said another of my characters is going to be appearing in it as has been widely reported since then. That was a mistake on the original reporters part.

Those two Infinity War credits came from Gamora and Thanos, though it should be noted that Starlin helped co-create Drax the Destroyer, too. His vault is filled with all sorts of big-name Marvel characters – and that’s where they’ll remain, if Starlin is to be believed…

Avengers 4 opens big on May 3rd, 2019, and only then will Earth’s Mightiest Heroes truly understand how fragile their reality is…
