It’s not really Halloween without Laurie Strode now, is it?
The original Scream Queen, who first wormed her way into our hearts back in ’78, is set to return later this year for Blumhouse’s horror sequel. And to honor the double celebration – that being a new Halloween movie coupled with the 40th anniversary of John Carpenter’s seminal classic – Laurie Strode herself, Jamie Lee Curtis, has confirmed plans to swing by San Diego Comic-Con later this month.
Word comes by way of Twitter (h/t ComicBook.com), where Curtis announced that 2018’s Halloween sequel has booked its place in the world-famous Hall H, where it’s expected to be the centerpiece of Universal’s annual showcase. Curtis, meanwhile, will be joined on stage by writer-director David Gordon Green, co-writer Danny McBride, Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, and the legendary John Carpenter, who’s returning to the cult horror franchise for the first time in 36 years.
He’ll executive produce and score this forthcoming sequel (more on that later), but for now, here’s official confirmation of Curtis’ SDCC appearance, straight from the horse’s mouth:

Based on the film’s chilling first trailer, Michael Myers’ night of terror, in which he slaughtered three teenagers, opened up a major void within the heart of Haddonfield, and we imagine the local town has never truly recovered from those horrific killings of ’78. Myers, meanwhile, is gearing up for round two. As is John Carpenter and wife Sandy King, given the creative duo recently confirmed that they’re hard at work on the movie’s shrill score.
The one, the only, the classic…Halloween haunts Haddonfield (and our dreams!) on October 19th.
