The eighth season of FX’s American Horror Story is shaping up to be very special indeed. Not that we’d expect anything less from Ryan Murphy, mind you.
Said to be unlike anything we’ve seen before when it arrives on Wednesday, September 12th, Murphy and his team are getting ready to peel back the curtain on that long-rumored “Coven/Murder House” crossover, but that’s far from the only thing to be excited about. Indeed, it seems as if there’s also a surprise cast member set to return, and speculation about who it might be is already running rampant.
Taking to his Instagram account this week, Billy Eichner posted a photo of himself and his co-stars for season 8 (seen below), with one of the actors hidden by an image of a ghost laid on top of the pic. In the caption, Eichner teased that the mysterious individual is a “secret friend,” but wouldn’t give anything else away, unfortunately. He did, however, tell us that it’s going to be a wild ride.
Of course, the most obvious candidate for who this person could be is Jessica Lange, who’s rumored to be involved in the new run. Chalk that up as speculation for now, though, as the only confirmed cast members we’ve heard about are Eichner, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Joan Collins, Cheyenne Jackson, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman and, finally, Billie Lourd who’s back, back, back for the show’s eighth season.
Save the date: Season 8 of American Horror Story will be summoned onto the small screen on September 12th, and only then will we know what Ryan Murphy and Co. have planned for that long-anticipated crossover between “Coven” and “Murder House,” as well as who this “secret friend” might be.
