New Avengers: Infinity War BTS Photo Teases That Epic Trailer Shot

The home release of Avengers: Infinity War is right around the corner, with the digital release coming in just a few days on July 31st and the Blu-ray following on August 14th. Both versions will come laden with deleted scenes, interview and insights into the creative background of a movie that, incredibly, managed to exceed expectations rather than just fulfil them. To whet your appetite for this, check out this still from the intro, showing a familiar shot from the trailer from a slightly different angle.

And now, to whet your appetite for this, a new BTS still showing a familiar shot from the trailer from a slightly different angle has surfaced. Though the shot’s missing its composited background and any digital touch-ups, it’s impressive how good it still looks, with Captain America’s costume (in my opinion, the best version yet in the MCU) looking particularly great.

Of course, the major thing missing from here appears to be the Hulk, though given that he ended up being absent from the movie, too, his omission is understandable. Check it out for yourself below and see what you think.

Pretty cool, eh? Though not particularly revealing, it does make me wish that the 31st would get here sooner. We’ve already been treated to clips from the fascinating sounding directors roundtable discussions, in which the Russo Brothers, Jon Favreau, Joss Whedon, James Gunn, Ryan Coogler, Peyton Reed and Taika Waititi reflect on their time working in the MCU and their plans for its future. Perhaps the one fly in that ointment is James Gunn being there, whose high profile firing last week has made him persona non grata at the House of Mouse.

Other than that, we can expect some neat scenes left on the cutting room floor, a feature about what happens when MCU characters meet for the first time, a proper exploration of Thanos’ character and deep dives into how they made the battles of Titan and Wakanda. I know I shouldn’t, but I’m seriously tempted to double-dip on this. I mean, if I get the digital edition I can watch all this stuff early and then I can get the Blu-ray to slide into my MCU shelf. It’s a win-win, right?
