Against all the odds, Netflix and seasoned producer Adi Shankar delivered a compelling, deliciously dark adaptation of Castlevania back in 2017 that went over very well with the fanbase.

In fact, many even hailed the four-part animated series as one of the more memorable video game adaptations of the past decade. Though if there was one issue that ended up being quite common, it was that the Netflix original was simply too short. Thankfully, then, viewers can expect a more thorough account of the Belmont clan later this year, as the second season of Castlevania will stretch for eight episodes in total.

Exactly what’s in store for Trevor Belmont and the rest of Transylvania is up for question at this early stage, but a tantalizing new trailer for season 2 has been dropped online today and teases another wild ride. Everything seems to be amped up here, too, from the violence to the action and of course, the blood. Suffice it to say, October 26th can’t come soon enough.

For more, here’s the official plot summary for the new run:

Returning to Netflix for a second season, Castlevania, inspired by the classic videogame series, is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes himself. Trevor Belmont, last survivor of his house, is no longer alone, and he and his misfit comrades race to find a way to save humanity from extinction at the hands of the grief-maddened Dracula and his sinister vampire war council.

Sounds good, eh? Of course, once again Castlevania will feature the voices of Graham McTavish (Preacher) as Dracula, Richard Armitage (Hannibal) as Trevor Belmont, and James Callis (Battlestar Galactica) as Alucard. Fred Tatasciore, Alejandra Reynos and Emily Swallow are also listed on the show’s impressive cast list.

The fate of Trevor and the rest of Transylvania hangs in the balance, then, and with an extended second season now coming down the pipe, we simply can’t wait to see Netflix’s Castlevania series through to its conclusion.
