Rumor Claims Jon Favreau’s Star Wars TV Series Will Take Place On Mandalore Soon After Jedi

Making Star Wars is reporting that the live-action series in the works from Jon Favreau will largely take place on Mandalore three years after the fall of the Empire.

Touting a hefty price tag of $10 million per episode and more expectations than we can count, Jon Favreau’s live-action Star Wars series is beginning to gain a serious sense of momentum now.

Story details are naturally few and far between at the moment – all we know for sure is that it’ll be set “around three years after Return of the Jedi” on the ever-evolving Star Wars timeline. That radio silence extends to the production timeline, too, given that there’s been no official word on when Favreau and his team are expected to get the ball rolling.

Fall 2018 was purportedly earmarked by Disney, though the company is yet to announce anything in an official capacity. And still, the online rumors just keep on coming. Over on Making Star Wars, for instance, there’s a new tidbit alleging that Jon Favreau plans to whisk viewers off to Mandalore three years after the Empire’s downfall.

The planet will apparently be in a state of disarray when the show opens, which means Favreau’s live-action TV series will largely focus on “restoring Mandalore to its former self.”

Keep in mind that this is nothing more than another Star Wars rumor for now, but the far-flung setting will no doubt spark conversation about some of the franchise’s most iconic characters, like Sabine, Bo-Katan and the legendary Darksaber. Could it be that they’ll swing by Jon Favreau’s show? Who knows.

One thing’s immediately clear, though: the director is taking things very seriously as he plots course for Star Wars and with it, that galaxy far, far away.
