Sebastian Stan in Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Sebastian Stan Has Some Advice For Fans Still Mourning Bucky’s Death

While appearing on Earth's Mightiest Show, Sebastian Stan offered up some timely advice about dealing with Bucky's death in the aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War.

With the exception of Spider-Man, the loss of Bucky Barnes was probably the most strongly felt during the finale of Avengers: Infinity War – not least because it was told through the eyes of a visibly distressed Captain America, who watched helplessly as his childhood friend crumbled into dust. Chills.

All of this was amplified by the genuine surprise plastered on Stan’s face, and while it’s been a full three months since Infinity War stormed into theaters, some fans are still quite upset that the Winter Soldier’s no longer with us.

Thankfully, while appearing on the most recent episode of Earth’s Mightiest Show (h/t ComicBook.com), the actor offered up some heartfelt advice about how to cope with Bucky’s death. Spoilers: it involves embracing fan fiction, of all things. Hey, whatever gets you through the night…

It is hard, and I feel like — you know, write down your feelings. You should write down the stories you want to see. Write down what you want to have happened with your favorite characters. I think that would be a good way to deal with it. And then you might actually maybe have it come true, I don’t know. Never say never, right? It’s possible.

So, there you have it; the MCU’s rookie therapist Sebastian Stan has dolled out some timely advice about dealing with Bucky’s death in the aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War.

That being said, he’ll no doubt be involved in Avengers 4 in some capacity, as it’s looking increasingly likely that Marvel’s untitled 2019 sequel will dabble with time travel and all of its mind-bending possibility. Perhaps it’ll include a nod to that Infinity War trailer shot of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (and friends) charging into Wakanda? We can only hope.
