Yesterday brought the intriguing news that Oscar Isaac has reportedly met with director Matt Reeves to discuss him taking a role in The Batman. It’s not known what part the actor’s up for, but seeing as Ben Affleck’s thought to bowing out of reprising Bruce Wayne in the production, fans are wondering whether Isaac could be the next star to don the Caped Crusader’s cowl.
Running with this possibility, artist Boss Logic has now created some awesome artwork which imagines Isaac in costume as the Dark Knight. He offered three alternate looks for the character, too: one head shot of Isaac as Wayne, one of him in the classic cowl with exposed chin and a third with a full mechanized face mask and glowing eyes.

As certain superhero fans do when castings that are even slightly out of the ordinary are discussed, the notion that Isaac could be the next Batman has been met with a little backlash. However, there’s no sane reason for why he wouldn’t be a great pick. He’s an incredibly gifted performer with a lot of range. I mean, just look at the difference between his dashing, heroic turn as Poe Dameron in the Star Wars movies and his larger-than-life titular villain in X-Men: Apocalypse.
If Reeves isn’t courting him for Batman, though, there are an abundance of other juicy roles he could play. Harvey Dent, Hush and Hugo Strange are just a few that spring to mind which would fit Isaac well and could also be good additions to The Batman. After all, we know that Reeves is looking to make a stripped-back, noirish detective story, likely with a much younger lead than Affleck.
