What began at San Diego Comic-Con last month with the unveiling of Worlds of DC continued yesterday, as the comic book juggernaut took another giant step toward revamping its entire operation.
During the inaugural DC Universe live-stream last night, it was announced that the video-on-demand service would officially launch on September 15th. Brimming with original content, including Harley Quinn, Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol, as well as offering an extensive back catalogue, the streaming network also set a street date for its pièce de résistance, Titans.
Indubitably teasing a much more brutal and mature take on the Bob Haney and Bruno Premiami-created IP, we got our first look at Titans last month during SDCC – highlighted by Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) dropping an F-bomb – and, for the most part, it did not disappoint.
Unfortunately, though, the entirety of Titans will not be available to stream on Friday, October 12th; instead, the twelve-episode first season will be unveiled on a weekly basis. That said, WB did provide a fresh look at Raven (Teagan Croft), Starfire (Anna Diop), Beast Boy (Ryan Potter) and, of course, Robin, to celebrate the declaration of the launch – which you can check out in the gallery below.
Before you go spending $74.99 on a full-year subscription, it should be noted that at the moment, it’s unclear what, exactly, will be available on the day of release. Nevertheless, it’s safe to assume Harley Quinn, Swamp Thing, and Doom Patrol won’t be on there for some time.
As for Titans, which, again, will be available starting October 12th, we’ll get an early indication of what to expect from the show slightly beforehand, as the world premiere screening is scheduled to take place at New York Comic-Con on October 3rd.
