Marvel’s God of Thunder enjoyed (endured?) quite the journey during Avengers: Infinity War.

Having just watched Asgard collapse into oblivion – you can blame the fire-wielding Surtur for that one – Thor loses two of his most treasured accomplices in Loki and Heimdall, guardian of the Bifrost.

From there, he just so happens to land on the Milano’s windshield, ultimately being introduced to the Guardians of the Galaxy and their talking raccoon sweet rabbit. Together, they plot course for the Dwarven realm of Nidavellir, where they hope to forge a Thanos-killer. The end result is Stormbreaker, a weapon so powerful it’s able to summon the Bifrost and allow Thor and his newfound allies – namely Groot and Rocket – to beam down into Wakanda in the nick of time. What a moment.

You’ll be pleased to note that Thor is expected to wield Stormbreaker during Avengers 4, too, as another piece of leaked concept art has emerged online that brings us that little bit closer to Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder.

Cue “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin…

This artwork arrives on the heels of yesterday’s media dump, which itself presented HD versions of the original Avengers 4 concept art that was leaked back in June.

We’ve yet to clock eyes on the full ensemble piece, mind you, but these character portraits should suffice – not least because they offer a better look at the Hulk’s upgraded armor. Because after spending much, if not all of Avengers: Infinity War on the sidelines, it’s about damn time that Marvel’s Jade Giant was given the screentime he deserves… along with a possible rematch against Josh Brolin’s Mad Titan.

Look for Avengers 4 to make its thunderous debut on May 3rd, 2019.
