This rather credible idea was alleged a few months ago by Twitter user Daniel R, and we’re hearing it again now from SuperBroMovies, who claim that Diana Prince herself will be making a deal with this powerful figure to bring back the late Steve Trevor after his heroic death several decades prior. While the name of this god remains undisclosed, Hades would be the most likely candidate, in which case you can be sure that this deal will come with a few unfortunate complications.

Seeing how Wonder Woman already brought us a god in disguise –  that is, the villainous Ares – this development would certainly be very on-brand for the series, though hopefully director Patty Jenkins and her co-writers would offer enough variation on the idea to keep things fresh.

Still, there are plenty of other ways that the upcoming movie could make use of Pascal’s casting. An alternative prediction, for example, suggests that he could be playing the mind-controlling millionaire Maxwell Lord, and to this theory’s credit, Pascal definitely has the appropriate ‘80s businessman look for this kind of character.

In any case, it’s interesting to hear that this is how Steve will be resurrected and after the first Wonder Woman served as a welcome exception in DC’s recent trend of widely disparaged releases, expectations will be high for Wonder Woman 1984 when it hits cinemas on November 1st, 2019. But first, Warner Bros. will be hoping for the best when they bring us Aquaman on December 21st, 2018, followed by Shazam! on April 5th, 2019.
