Central City Becomes A War Zone In The Flash Season 5 Promo

As The Flash season 4 finale teased, this next run will deal with Barry Allen and Iris West coming to terms with the fact that their daughter from the future - Nora AKA XS (Jessica Parker Kennedy) - has arrived in the present. It won't just be weird family dynamics that cause problems in the new season, though, as Nora's time traveling looks to have dire consequences on the timeline, too. Like father like daughter.

As The Flash season 4 finale teased, this next run will deal with Barry Allen and Iris West coming to terms with the fact that their daughter from the future – Nora AKA XS (Jessica Parker Kennedy) – has arrived in the present. It won’t just be weird family dynamics that cause problems in the new season, though, as Nora’s time traveling looks to have dire consequences on the timeline, too. Like father like daughter.

The promo you’ll see above teases that XS’s jaunt back in time changes events so that Team Flash don’t defeat the latest metahuman of the week, Gridlock (X-Men‘s Daniel Cudmore), on their first attempt. According to some ominous words from Captain Singh, that means Central City could become “a war zone.” But can the Scarlet Speedster and his daughter team up and save it? We’re going to go out on a limb and say that they will.

The promo also promises that there’ll be some fun easter eggs and connections in this episode. For instance, Nora offhandedly mentions The Flash Museum, something that peaks Cisco’s interest. The Museum’s a classic location in the comics and, though it probably won’t feature on The CW show, this is still a welcome nod to it.

What’s more, the trailer hints that the reason Nora’s come back to the present is because Barry’s disappeared in a “crisis” in her time. We know this as one clip sees the two of them looking at Eobard Thawne’s old newspaper from the future in the Time Vault. That mysterious future event’s been teased since season 1, so we’re definitely excited to learn more about it. It’s also possible that it’ll tie into the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover.

Our friends at STAR Labs return to The CW when The Flash airs next Tuesday, October 9th. Will you be tuning in? Be sure to let us know by dropping a comment down below.
