Lauren Cohan Shares First Look At Hershel In The Walking Dead Season 9

The Walking Dead family lost a legend of their own last weekend, when it was confirmed that Scott Wilson (AKA Hershel Greene) had passed away at the age of 76. Unsurprisingly, his death led to an outpouring of sadness and grief from the TWD community, while AMC also released a statement in memory of the actor and his timeless legacy.

The Walking Dead family lost a legend of their own last weekend, when it was confirmed that Scott Wilson (AKA Hershel Greene) had passed away at the age of 76. Also known for roles across The OA and In the Heat of the Night, The Walking Dead fanbase will always remember Wilson as Hershel Greene, who despite having died on the show a few years ago, will make a return in season 9. From what we understand, Scott Wilson wrapped filming just prior to his untimely death, and his appearance will most likely come in the form of a flashback or hallucination.

How exactly he’ll factor into things is still unknown, but the latest member of the cast to pay tribute to Wilson’s life and legacy is fellow Walking Dead veteran Lauren Cohan, who shared the photo you’ll see in the gallery down below. In doing so, she’s also given us our first look at his return.

As ComicBook.com points out, Cohan’s seen here in the same outfit and with a similar hair length as in a recent featurette detailing the making of season 9. And so, it’s safe to assume that this shot was taken during her reunion with Wilson on set.

Chances are Hershel’s return has something to do with Maggie’s own finale, given that Cohan’s about to depart The Walking Dead for pastures anew. Once again, though, details surrounding everything remain hard to come by, though with season 9 now underway, it should all begin to become much clearer very soon.

Look for AMC’s juggernaut to return this Sunday with “The Bridge,” and we’ll have a full breakdown for you right here on WGTC the moment it’s live, so stay tuned.
