As Marvel Studios delay the reveal of the Avengers 4 title beyond all sense, numerous theories and guesses have made their way onto fan forums and social media, and some suggestions are better than others.

For one example, you might remember a while back when Avengers: Endgame was briefly considered and dismissed in light of co-director Joe Russo’s statement that the sequel’s subtitle wouldn’t come from a line of dialogue heard in Avengers: Infinity War. More recently, Avengers: Annihilation was said to be the frontrunner by some, though it’s had some competition in The Last Avenger, a title that Mark Ruffalo apparently blurted out on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The debates will likely continue on for a little bit longer, but rest assured, the answers we so desperately crave will begin to surface soon. That’s because production has now wrapped on Avengers 4. Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed as much tonight, taking to Twitter to share the below image along with the caption: #wrapped

As with a lot of the directors’ other Tweets, this photo is awfully mysterious and though fans have already begun examining it for clues, no one’s seemed to have found anything just yet. We’re sure there’s something hidden in there somewhere, but for now, we can at least celebrate the fact that the shoot’s over and the marketing machine will likely kick off in the near future. That means trailers, photos and, of course, that damn title reveal.

Avengers 4 finally – finally! – sees a release on May 3rd, 2019. Standing between now and then is a little-known standalone film called Captain Marvel though, which looks set to roll out the MCU’s strongest ever character in Carol Danvers. It’s an exciting time to be a fan, and we simply can’t wait to see what’s in store during Phase 4… and beyond.
