Chris Hemsworth Shares New Men In Black Photos As Filming Wraps

The production period of the upcoming Men in Black movie is coming to a close, and despite a generous array of set photos featuring Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth, it still feels like we know even less about the events of this sci-fi sequel than we do about Hemsworth’s other upcoming franchise project, Avengers 4.

Earlier today, the actor announced the wrapping of his scenes via Instagram, posting a slideshow of set pics along with the following message:

“That’s a wrap on MIB for me!! From London to Morocco to Italy and NYC. Thank you to all the fantastic cast and crew who took part on this epic journey and our director F.Gary Gray, cheers for the fun times, big laughs and solid memories. Can’t wait to show what we’ve put together. see you all soon #MIB @tessamaethompson”

The photos don’t offer a whole lot new, but it’s nice to get a quick rundown of the various locations that this production visited. Hemsworth’s previously mentioned that the film will be changing up the locations, taking the team out of New York and to new parts of the world, and we’ve already seen some evidence of this from a picture last week showing Hemsworth and Thompson walking through a desert.

On a related note, a less official batch of photos recently surfaced online that saw the Thor: Ragnarok co-stars on the island of island of Ischia in Italy. A potentially telling detail is that while Thompson’s Agent M is living up the franchise’s titular dress code, Hemsworth’s in more casual attire, raising the question of whether this sequence is taken from a time in the story before Agent H has become an agent.

That remains to be seen, but one thing we can be pretty sure of for now is that the film is serving as a soft reboot for the franchise, in that it may not feature any Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones, but will keep the adventures of Agent J and Agent K as part of the series timeline. This sense of continuity has allowed Emma Thompson to reprise her role as MIB head Agent O from 2012’s Men in Black 3, who’ll presumably be responsible for overseeing the new central pair.

We’ll find out how Thompson and Hemsworth fill the suits of their predecessors when the next Men in Black comes out on June 14th, 2019.
