New Synopsis For The Flash Hints At The Icicle

Even with The Flash and other Arrowverse shows having existed for several years now, there are still many more DC Comics villains for The CW to utilize. And to be more specific, we could see more possessing "cold powers" in the very near future.

It’s at this time we’ll ask you to recall how Caitlin Snow not only lost access to her Killer Frost alter ego last season, but also how she found out her metahuman abilities weren’t granted by the particle accelerator explosion a few years back. Instead, she’d somehow been living with them since childhood, the details of which remain sketchy.

Well, smart money says we’re going to learn a lot more in a matter of weeks, as the official synopsis for “The Icicle Cometh” is more telling than one would think:

CAITLIN LEARNS SOMETHING NEW ABOUT HER FATHER — Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) learn something new about Caitlin’s father (guest star Kyle Secor). Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) and Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) follow a clue about Cicada (Chris Klein). Chris Peppe directed the episode written by Kristen Kim & Joshua V. Gilbert (#506). Original airdate 11/20/2018.

Right now, it’s looking like Caitlin’s daddy is about to be revealed as the Arrowverse’s version of the Icicle. In fact, his forged death certificate was signed by a “Cameron Mahkent,” whom readers of comics will know as one of the men to have used the “Icicle” name.

My best guess is the producers used the pseudonym as an homage to the source material, and Caitlin’s father was somehow responsible for the creation of Killer Frost many moons ago. Of course, the specifics are yet to be laid out, so we’ll just have to tune in to learn what’s going on.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW, with “The Icicle Cometh” being slated to debut on November 20th.
