New Promo For The Flash Shows The Tender Side Of Cicada

If you tuned in for tonight's episode of The Flash, then you certainly got all you could've asked for and more. In addition to Caitlin Snow's father showing up and establishing himself as the Arrowverse's version of the Icicle just as we suspected he would, we also learned of her true origins as Killer Frost. And if that weren't enough, daddy also dropped the names of two other major "cold villains" from the DC Universe, those being Louise Lincoln (another Killer Frost from the comics) and Victor Fries!

When it came to Cicada, though, the team inched ever closer to uncovering his identity. But if we have anything to learn from the first trailer promoting next week’s episode, “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” the big bad just might get to the Scarlet Speedster and his buddies first.

Seen at the very top of this article, said promo is capped off by some tender narration that your brain may first interpret as coming from Barry Allen. But once you really start listening, you’ll recognize that it’s Cicada talking to his daughter.

Actually, it’s nice hearing a bit more subtlety on his dialogue because Chris Klein’s really been overdoing the part as if he were a voice actor in a Resident Evil game, but that’s just the opinion of one writer. Regardless, we should all brace ourselves for what’s sure to be a memorable collision.

For more on “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” be sure to check out the official synopsis:

THANKSGIVING — While Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) grapples with unresolved anger over her father’s disappearance in the future, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash must stop a powerful new meta, Weather Witch (guest star Reina Hardesty), from killing her own father, Weather Wizard (guest star Liam Mcintyre). Sarah Boyd directed the episode written by Jonathan Butler & Gabriel Garza (#507).

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
