Star Wars: Episode IX’s Title Might Be Revealed In Two Weeks

While Star Wars: Episode IX is still over a year away from reaching cinemas, there’s good reason to believe that the film’s official title will be unveiled within the next couple of months. After all, we first heard the name of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in November of 2014, and while the arrival of The Last Jedi subtitle wasn’t quite so prompt, we still only had to wait until January of 2017.

With that in mind, the idea of a title reveal before the end of 2018 seems quite possible, if not especially probable, but with a new trailer rumor making the rounds, some fans have gone as far as to suggest that we could be referring to Episode IX by its proper name just two weeks from now.

In a report relayed by the Express, it’s said that trailer production companies are a fortnight away from starting work on the film’s first teaser, meaning that some footage might be coming out in the early parts of 2019. While these claims should be read with skepticism, a prediction has already grown from this rumor that a title reveal could be dropping at around the same time.

While that conclusion sounds like a stretch, even aside from the dubious nature of the evidence at hand, there’s a slight chance that the theorists are in for a win regardless, though given the rate of progress on the Episode IX promotion, the first week of December is feeling a little soon for a title drop, with early 2019 sounding like a safer bet at this point.

But regardless of when this big reveal arrives, Star Wars: Episode IX – or whatever we end up calling it – is scheduled for release on December 20th, 2019.
