With Avengers: Endgame now just over four months away from release, Marvel Studios can only keep the tie-in merchandise at bay for so long, and in these last few days alone, we’ve already seen a fair few toy leaks teasing the content of next year’s Avengers: Infinity War sequel.

Just take this blurry photo shared on Reddit for example, which gives us a look at Thanos in full armor, along with the bulky new sword – seen here disassembled into two parts – that we’ve witnessed in previously leaked concept art. And if you’re wondering why his left arm looks so weird, it’s probably because he’s yet to put on his Infinity Gauntlet.

Speaking of which, it’s worth remembering that the Mad Titan went most of Infinity War without his armor, since the Infinity Stones on his hand already kept him well protected enough. The question is therefore raised of why he’d be taking precautions in his next film, with the most popular explanation being that the gauntlet took some significant damage when the infamous snap was enacted.

In any case, the marketing material for Endgame has made it very clear already that Thanos will continue to play a major role in the upcoming film. From the disintegrating Marvel Studios logo in the movie’s first trailer, to the purple-tinted lettering of the first official poster, the tyrant holds an undeniable presence in the promotion, though there remains much speculation and uncertainty on what his role will actually be in the story.

While Thanos wanted nothing more than to finally rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe, we’ll find out how he returns to the action when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
