Spider-Man: Far From Home Fan Art Imagines Mysterio With Helmet

In this last quarter of 2018, we’ve seen a fair few pics of Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home, but so far, the actor’s head has always looked bare and exposed, without the trademark fishbowl helmet that comic book fans will know to associate with the character of Mysterio. But while we still haven’t got a proper look at the MCU equivalent of the Quentin Beck headwear, one fan has at least offered their interpretation of how the accessory might look.

Last night, frequent leaker Daniel Richtman ‏took to Twitter with an illustration from the next issue of Empire Magazine that showed Gyllenhaal in full Mysterio outfit, save for the helmet. But if this getup looked a little incomplete to you, Richtman followed that up with a fan edit showing the fishbowl over Quentin’s head, adding that while this isn’t an official image, the helmet artwork is “pretty much how it looks in the film.”

Sure, it’s not quite the same as viewing the prop in live-action form, but it’ll have to do for now, seeing how Sony is still dragging their feet on releasing the first trailer. Though a teaser screened weeks ago at Brazil’s CCXP, it’s starting to look doubtful that a preview will drop before the end of the year.

Nonetheless, we’ve learned a fair amount about the character of Mysterio in the past month, with the cast revealing at Comic Con Experience that Quentin will be teaming up with Peter Parker to fight Elementals across Europe. Based on the comic book history of these two, it seems inevitable that the pair won’t stay friends for long, but we’ll see if the team can at least defeat a few foes together before their eventual break-up when Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5th, 2019.
