Happy birthday, Tom Hiddleston!
The British actor, most well known for playing everyone’s favorite trickster god Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is 38 today. And to celebrate, fellow MCU star Mark Ruffalo took to Twitter to share a hilarious and surprisingly adorable post.
Ruffalo, who’s played Bruce Banner opposite Hiddleston in three movies so far – The Avengers, Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War – wished his pal many happy returns and then jokingly added: “50 is hell. But it gets better.” Attached to the tweet was a GIF capturing a moment in which Ruffalo snuggles up to Hiddleston from behind.

If you’re intrigued to know more about this affectionate encounter between the pair, it’s from the London press conference for Infinity War that took place last April. In fact, here’s the full clip:

While Ruffalo and Hiddleston are clearly great buds, Hulk and Loki have a much more complicated relationship in the MCU. They started off as enemies, with the Green Goliath pounding the “puny god” into the floor in a memorable sequence in The Avengers. The duo then became unlikely allies in Ragnarok in order to save Asgard from Hela. After that, Hulk came to Loki and Thor’s rescue in the opening scene of Infinity War before the God of Mischief seemingly gave his life in a bid to stop Thanos.
Hiddleston hasn’t been confirmed to return in Avengers: Endgame, but we have a strong feeling that Loki will be back in the movie, which would likely mean Ruffalo and Hiddleston will share some scenes for the fourth time in the Marvel universe. How Loki will return, we don’t know – perhaps either by time travel or by it being revealed that he faked his death, as fans suspect – but you can find out for sure when Endgame hits cinemas on April 26th.
