Arrow And Legends Of Tomorrow May End After Their Next Seasons

When The CW renewed all of its DC-based shows for another season last month, I wouldn't doubt if many fans out there did a little happy dance. Granted, some have been performing better than others in the ratings department of late, but my gut says the network wants to keep them all alive long enough for the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover to be all that it can be.

Still, all good things must come to an end at some point. As it turns out, a source close to We Got This Covered is telling us that both Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow will be ending after the next season. If you’d like us to be more specific, we’re talking about the 2019-20 broadcast year.

Basically, this is because the Arrowverse landscape is said to be drastically different post-Crisis. To be honest, we don’t know if that means Greg Berlanti and company are paring it down to one cohesive universe so that Supergirl is more readily available for crossover action, but official announcements are expected to come down near the end of each respective season.

What’s also worth mentioning is that characters from cancelled shows may move over to other series. If this option is indeed explored, then maybe Heat Wave will come back home to The Flash, or someone else could drop by Batwoman for a visit.

Having been bestowed with this knowledge, I must say it doesn’t come as too much of a shock. After all, Arrow has been around longest and Stephen Amell will likely have to move on at some point. Heck, Oliver Queen is already leading the pool as the major character to meet their end in “Crisis.” And if he were gone, I’m not sure if viewers would stick around for an Arrow-less Arrow.

In the case of Legends, that one’s a little harder to analyze, but I imagine it’s one of the more expensive shows to produce. Also, I’m wondering how much longer it can be stretched out for because, you have to admit, it’s become very different from its original iteration. Maybe it’s best that it go out on top.

For now, though, be sure to catch Arrow when it returns with new episodes on Monday, March 4th. Legends of Tomorrow, meanwhile, is gearing up its midseason premiere for Monday, April 1st.
