First of all, as the recent CinemaCon footage implied, the upcoming film will reportedly see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes blast off into space to find the Mad Titan. But while the gang succeeds in tracking down Thanos, the purple tyrant destroys all the Infinity Stones, ensuring that they can’t be used to reverse the snap.

Nonetheless, hope apparently arrives a few years later with the return of Ant-Man, who escaped from the Quantum Realm by way of a portal. While our source hasn’t specified the nature of the portal, it sounds like Scott Lang used one of those time vortexes teased in Ant-Man and the Wasp, since the team then realizes that they can use the Quantum Realm to travel back in time.

The subsequent plan is said to involve journeying to different points in MCU history in order to collect each of the Infinity Stones before Thanos can get to them. For example, the Avengers will reportedly go back to the Battle of New York from 2012’s The Avengers (as per the leaked set photos) and ask the younger version of the team – and Loki – to help them protect the stones. The source also mentions that the gang will somehow change the way that the Guardians of the Galaxy first met.

So, that’s what we’ve heard, and while Marvel is unlikely to confirm these claims anytime soon, we’ll find out how much our source has right when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
