Spidey Teams Up With Mysterio In New Spider-Man: Far From Home Photo

Spidey and Mysterio team up in this awesome new photo from Spider-Man: Far From Home, which swings into theaters this July.

In the lead-up to Avengers: Endgame, Marvel hasn’t been doing a lot to promote Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is understandable, really, given that its very existence serves as one big spoiler for the upcoming release. Nevertheless, it seems we now have a new still from the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, and it sees Peter Parker alongside Jake Gyllenhaal’s Quentin Beck. Or, as he’s better known to you, I and most people, Mysterio.

From what we understand, it’ll be Nick Fury and Maria Hill who pair Spidey up with this unlikely ally to fight Elementals across Europe, though given the duo’s comic book history, it’s probably safe to say that Beck will show his villainous side sooner or later. How that’ll happen, we can’t yet say, but you can catch a glimpse of both characters in the gallery down below.

Already, there’s been a lot of speculation that Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio might actually be secretly behind all the Elemental activity. It’s an interesting theory, and one that would fall in line pretty well with the character and his origins on the page, but again, we’ve been given no firm clues just yet on what his real motives are or how he’ll ultimately become the film’s villain.

What we know for sure though is that it’s highly unlikely that Beck and Parker will still be fighting on the same side by the end of the movie, and we’ll find out how this duo fares in their mission pretty soon, as Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters in July. But not before Spidey returns to the land of the living tomorrow, with Avengers: Endgame. Suffice it to say, Marvel fans are in for a pretty exciting spring/summer.
