Game Of Thrones Theory Says Melisandre Already Returned And We Missed It

A new Game of Thrones theory suggests that Melisandre, the Red Witch, is back in Winterfell disguised as the little girl with the facial scar.

Houses Stark, Lannister and Targaryen have united with whomever else wants to fight the white walkers, and Game of Thrones is gearing up for the final showdown at Winterfell. It seems that pretty much whoever’s survived this long has joined the battle, but one person has been missing.

Yes, Melisandre, the Red Witch, is absent from the action right now, but a new theory circulating is saying that ain’t so. Originating over on Reddit, here’s what it puts forth:

I think that Lady Melisandre is already in Winterfell. She used her ruby to glamour herself as this little girl with a burn scar. She will prevent Whitewalkers from entering a crypts.

Likely? Quite. Intriguing? Very! Melisandre said in season 7, when Varys suggests she not return to Westeros, that she has to come back once more to die there. Seeing how she has the ability to change her appearance, this is a very solid theory. Right up there with the Drogo/Drogon argument, in fact, and one of the many that states how Jon Snow might die.

The Redditor suggests that she’ll somehow prevent the living dead girls (and boys…thanks Rob Zombie) from entering the crypts, too. That’s where most of the actual living women and children are hiding. She does have magic, after all, so who knows? But there’s another positive to her being around; if the walkers enter the crypts, Melisandre could create an army of dead Starks to defend everyone by raising them from the dead before the undead army does.

There’s also the fact that she’s disliked by many of the folks in Winterfell right now, so using her ruby to disguise herself as the little girl would be brilliant. Especially since it seems to have given her a one way ticket to an underground room full of dead soldiers just waiting to be brought back to life.

What are your thoughts on this juicy Game of Thrones theory, though? Does it make you wish the weekend would get here quicker, or what?
