Sebastian Stan Teases The Falcon And Winter Soldier Series

For example, though we’ve known for a while now that a Falcon and Winter Soldier TV show is coming to Disney Plus, Sebastian Stan has largely kept quiet on the project until now. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, however, the Bucky Barnes actor confirmed that the reports have it right.

“That’s the word, yeah,” Stan confirmed. “It only took about four press tours for somebody to get the idea that these two lunatics should have a show ya know. The rumors are…the rumors are true.”

While Fallon didn’t seem entirely convinced at first by Stan’s hesitant comments, the star went on to reaffirm that the rumors are true, before sharing a little insight on his experience working with Anthony Mackie.

“No they are,” Stan said. “I love him because it’s really hard. Like I always quote Apollo 13 every time I’m with him because it’s like, really working with him is really like riding a psychotic horse in a blazing stable. Like that’s what it is like just hang on and usually if you look at my expressions like… just get a word in now.”

Last year, it was reported that Malcolm Spellman of Empire fame had been tapped to write the series. Though no plot details have been confirmed just yet, it’s rumored that the show will be a spy thriller in the vein of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and may even feature Nick Fury in some capacity. As for Sam and Bucky’s old friend Steve, though the final minutes of Endgame suggest that Chris Evans is done with the franchise, surely we can’t rule out a cameo.

In any case, Falcon and Winter Soldier is one of several MCU-based TV shows headed for Disney Plus. Two others that we’ve known about for several months now are the Loki series and WandaVision, and according to a recent Variety report, even Hawkeye has a spinoff on the way. But before all that, Spider-Man: Far From Home will officially bring Marvel’s Phase 3 to a close when it comes out on July 2nd.
